Proving an avatar is yours
Someone else registered an account claiming to be behind your avatar, or you simply want a dated trail showing you were the one who said “this is mine” first. Here is what a THB record actually gives you, and what it does not.
What proves it: date plus hash
Section titled “What proves it: date plus hash”Two things together carry the evidential weight of a record:
- The registration date (
registered_at), stamped by the database at the moment you submitted the declaration: not something either you or our own administrators can backdate or edit afterward. - The content hash, a fingerprint of exactly what was declared. Anyone can recompute it and confirm the record was not altered since that date. See Records for the exact recipe.
Put together, they answer one specific question well: who declared what, and when. If two people both claim an avatar, the one with the earlier, tamper-evident declaration has a concrete date to point to; the other does not.
What it is not
Section titled “What it is not”A THB record is not a copyright or trademark registration with a national or EU intellectual-property office, and it does not by itself create or transfer any legal right. It is an independent, private registry: a dated statement of responsibility, not a state title. If a dispute needs formal IP protection, that is a separate, legal process; a THB record can support it as evidence of timing, it does not replace it.
How to actually show it

It has no public page for a third party to check independently yet, but nothing stops you from sharing a copy of it, for example with a mediator or in a dispute, the way you would any dated document you hold. |

What verification adds
Section titled “What verification adds”A Registered record is a self-declaration: you said it was yours, dated and tamper-evident, but no one confirmed you are who you say you are. Verification adds an identity check on top: it confirms a real, identified human stands behind the claim, which is a stronger fact for anyone weighing a dispute than a self-declaration alone, on top of making the record public in the first place.
A practical note
Section titled “A practical note”The earlier you register, the more the date is worth. If you are building an avatar, a voice, an agent or any other AI creation you intend to defend, registering it as soon as it exists, before wide publication, gives the date more work to do than registering it after a dispute has already started.
